The main highlight The book, Ranger's Apprentice, Ruins of Gorlan, was when the Rangers and the Knights fight off the 2 Kalkara, blood-thirsty creatures that resemble assassin Sasquatches and they have vicious like teeth and abilities such as giant leaps wear it can jump as far as 100 feet and has a strong paralyzing glare which if you look at his eyes you will become in a paralyzed self where it is easy for it to just smash the paralyzed figure. This part is the main highlight because the Author, John Flanagan, wrote this part with very intense strong language where it is very easy to visualize the action and the features on all the little details of the battle scene. One of the Kalkara gets killed by Halt's Longbow, but with the other one, it leaps towards halt, breaks his weapon, the longbow and strikes at his leg, leaving a giant gash on the side of his leg! Just in time, the reinforcements come and save Halt. Now Sir Rodney has been paralyzed by the Kalkara's glare and now is about to be striked upon and killed. Will Fires a fiery arrow toward the Kalkara. It doesn't penetrate the body, but it leaves enough damage to make the Kalkara on fire due to its waxy-like fur. The Kalkara dies and Will is considered a hero.
