The book "Ranger's Apprentice is very well written but like all books that I have reviewed, they all have flaws. The beginning of this novel, it started off pretty slowly because John Flanagan needed to introduce all of the characters, what they do and basic ideas and elements the reader needed to know like thee main character, Halt the Ranger, his apprentice Will . I believed that this part could have been re-written in a more enthusiastic, action-packed, form instead of the style how Flanagan wrote it. To save readers from putting the book down during this boring half of the book, there were slight parts of actions including a boar-hunt went wrong, almost causing the loss of one of Will's best friend, and a scene about bullying. I really believe, this book wouldn't be as popular as others without these 2 parts. Now in the second part of this book, the more action packed, well written part, Will and Halt go on a journey, with fellow ranger Gilan, to kill to 2 assassin giant Sasquatches, the Kalkara, whom they believe to go after and kill King Duncan, the King of the Araluen. The book is a very good one and to know the rest you must read the book. You can find it at your nearest bookstore today.
